Al meer dan tien jaar uitstekend geholpen door Broadstreet met gecompliceerde belasting aangiftes met buitenland uitzendingen.
Where to begin with this company. What a whirlwind. I had them do my personal taxes about a year ago and as an Expat they did my Dutch filings and outsourced my US tax filing. There were some issues on the US end but that wasn’t really their fault other than choosing an inept business partner. I thought this mistake was kind of weird and thought they would have vetted a business partner a bit better. This issue wasn’t really on them, so I gave them a second chance. I chose Broadstreet to do accounting and tax services for my VOF in NL and this is where the frustration really started. The amount of unprofessional, shady and just plain unorganized disfunction that I witnessed in my time working with this company was shocking. There are a few instances that particularly come to mind. 1. Sending me incorrect invoices with a different clients business matters on my invoice for two consecutive quarters. I got it fixed and reversed the first quarter only to see the same invoice the second quarter and when I reached out to the Broadstreet employee on the invoice, he had left the company, and an automated message said someone would follow up, yet nobody did and I still got a reminder to pay the invoice. 2. As an Expat with a VOF in a new country trying to learn a new tax process I wanted to depend on Broadstreet to provide me with answers to questions I asked. When I asked questions they’d sometimes email me back or they’d suggest we hop on a call, only for me to be even more confused than before and then receive a bill for the call or email that they suggested to provide me with answers. This happened multiple times. 3. After not receiving a sample invoice that was acceptable for Exact Online when I requested one I provided a test invoice to ensure that we were ok as we approached go-live, I got the ok from the Accounting department, then they stated at the end of the quarter that some of the transactions were rejected. I offered to help and resubmit invoices or manually change anything I could in Exact Online and they said that was not possible, so they manually adjusted the transactions in Exact Online that were in the format of the previously approved test invoice that I sent and then I was billed over 800 euros for the additional work. This felt to me that they were deliberately withholding information from me to make it more difficult and then when an error were to occur they’d make some more money off of me by conducting additional work or setting up additional meetings/calls. 4. I tried getting support from Exact Online but I needed my account information and Broadstreet had this information as they set up the Exact Online account for my VOF. I was trying to get that Exact Online login information so that I could get support from Exact Online and create the API connection to Exact Online from my webshop yet they still haven’t provided me with that information. To me, again, this felt like they were purposefully withholding information to make it more difficult and create more invoice line items to charge me for. I trusted this company to provide support and guidance, and I didn’t receive any of that. Instead, I received invoices for thousands of euros, and literally all they did was a null filing, a Vat return for expenses and one month of my business being live. All I can say is DON’T GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS. They are expensive to the industry average, are unorganized, and lacking in expertise, especially technically when trying to connect systems, and what I find the most annoying is that it really comes through that they are not trying to make things easier for me but rather easier for them and just charge me because they know its mandatory to file a return for a business in NL each quarter. I’d love to talk to leadership about process improvement and CSAT scores because something has gone in the wrong direction in the past year or so with this company.
Absolute disappointment working with Broadstreet. Billed us thousands of euros without offering much advice and services. Had to walk away very frustrated. The transparency regarding fees is very bad. They will ask you for a meeting and then send you a huge invoice for that. They are here for 25 years but only 40 reviews? Don't waste your time and money like us.
This year I have had the pleasure of working with Aimee from Boradstreet in order to complete a somewhat complicated filing for a tax ruling. Aimee's knowledge and willingness to jump on calls at all times has helped to make the process as seamless as possible. Would recommend.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent experience with Broadstreet Company. The team is highly professional, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to helping their clients achieve their financial goals. From the initial consultation 5 years ago, I felt heard and understood, and they took the time to explain complex financial concepts in a way that was easy to grasp. They provided personalized advice tailored to my situation. The level of care and attention to detail is unparalleled. I highly recommend Broadstreet to anyone seeking trustworthy and effective financial advice!
As an Expat I have been using Broadstreet for more than 6 years for everything to do with my move and integration into the Dutch tax system. My tax profile is complicated since it also involves off shore earnings, wealth tax from multiple countries, property transactions, getting divorced in the Netherlands and now we are busy wrapping up, making preparations for my retirement, then exiting the Dutch tax system and returning to my original country. Throughout my dealings at Broadstreet I have been in the very capable hands of Elisabeth Bouwer and Nadia van Kooten and occasionally Sarah van Kooten, who all communicate in perfect English. They have given me excellent professional service and knowledge whenever needed. All my tax returns have been flawless in their accuracy and execution and on time. In the recent years I have had more dealings with Nadia, who is prompt to reply to all my complicated queries with clear and informative explanations of what I need to be know. The charges for these "out of the normal" questions, I believe are reasonable and priced based on the time spent by Broadstreet in the preparations. In complicated situations, I believe an efficient harmony can be found, by giving Broadstreet a good summary of the background information prior to asking your pertinent questions. From my experience I have no hesitation in recommending Broadstreet as a very capable company, that can professionally handle individuals tax affairs form start to finish. As a world wide traveler I have also been very comforted by the fact that help and personal communication with Broadstreet is as easy as an email away, form anywhere in the world.
Edit: Upon my off-boarding with Broadstreet, Bas took the time to get on a few calls with me to work through the aforementioned issues. We were able to come to an agreement on some outstanding charges. I do appreciate that at the end of the partnership he made the time to listen to my experience. I regret to say that my experience with this company has been far from satisfactory. The communication is disorganized, making it difficult to get in touch with them, and their support is inadequate. Initially, they were responsive during the onboarding process, but the support declined significantly afterward. As an expat, it's difficult to anticipate the questions that may arise while learning a new tax system, and you expect your accountant to be supportive and reliable. Unfortunately, I consistently found myself without answers or adequate explanations and was billed exorbitant amounts for 'advice' that was never provided. I've identified multiple errors on their part, including invoicing mistakes where I overpaid nearly 2,000 euros within just a few months. You'll be hit with excessively large invoices on a regular basis, which just perpetuates the cycle of frustration. I recommend avoiding this company to save yourself the hassle.
