De Horst Mediation

Helaas niks goeds te melden over de manier waarop wij begeleid zijn. Het heeft een hoop geld gekost en de mediation is afgebroken door Petra Mallant zelf omdat het haar teveel tijd kostte. Helaas is Petra teveel in detail getreden en heeft ze de zaak niet directief aangepakt. Geen woorden voor de manier waarop het allemaal gegaan is, de manier waarop het be-eindigd is en het feit dat er geen reactie komt op ongenoegen wat uitgesproken wordt. Erg onprofessioneel. In een toch al moeilijke tijd op deze manier van de wal in de drup geholpen te worden is (zwak uitgedrukt) meer dan vervelend. Temeer omdat Petra ons van tevoren een optimistisch beeld schetste over de afwikkeling van de scheiding.

Facturatie is het enige wat telt voor dit bedrijf. Lekker lang aan de praat houden. Onnodige lange sessies en vervolgens niet reactief optreden wanneer het proces ontspoort

Unfortunately the mediation we received was so bad that it ended up making our situation a LOT worse. We were going through a divorce and contacted De Horst to help us reach mutual agreements and our goal was an amicable separation. I was often spoken to as if I was a child who didn't understand, and she most certainly took the side of my ex husband. This left me angry and upset when she was supposed to be helping us, but instead she made the situation worse. It took MONTHS to finally hear that she couldn't help us with the main thing we needed help with. We couldn't believe it. We made our wishes 110% clear from the beginning. And after months and months and THOUSANDS of Euros, she couldn't help us because 'she wasn't qualified to give legal advice' concerning the split of property. We ended up leaving De Horst Mediation and used my own lawyer instead, who agreed to give us legal advice with a fair and unbiased view so that we could end our marriage the way we had wanted to right from the beginning. Using De Horst was a complete waste of time and a LOT of money, and the only thing that happened was to increase our stress levels and dragged out the uncertainty of our situation. We all suffered from the added stress, including our children. Just a word of advice about the costs: the hourly rate is extortionate and around the same as I paid for my very experience lawyer. Although I speak and write Dutch, the woman at De Horst invoiced us over 4 hours for a relatively short email which she had obviously spent most of her time struggling to write in English. Her explanation was that she needed to research before she replied, but she wrote nothing that we hadn't already heard in a previous meeting. I also joked to my ex husband that she had alzheimers because she would regularly completely forget what we had discussed in previous meetings. Definitely do NOT use this company if you're looking for an amicable separation, because it will result in the complete opposite.
