I live in the Netherlands as an expat, and I had no idea how complex the process of buying a house could be. A friend of mine referred WeLocate to me, and it helped me a lot! I didn’t have to worry about all the paperwork or figure out who to work with, because they had everything arranged according to my needs. They matched me with a makelaar and a financial advisor, and after that, everything moved very quickly and smoothly — I bought my apartment in a short time. I felt much more comfortable knowing there was always someone available to answer my questions whenever I called. They even have a Turkish representative, which made things even more convenient for me. My only suggestion for improvement would be to create a clearer process flow from the beginning to the end, so that clients can easily follow the steps, contact the right person for their questions, and make sure no steps are missed. Apart from that, I highly recommend them to everyone! 🙂

Nice words, big promises, and "we do everything for our clients"… that’s how it starts. We chose the best package because we were told they would handle everything for us. Did they? Not at all. • We found the houses ourselves • We went to the viewings ourselves • We arranged and paid for the appraiser (taxateur) ourselves for the valuation required by the bank • We hired our own financial advisor • And basically, everything that Welocate was supposed to do, we ended up doing ourselves At no stage did we have a representative from Welocate physically present. Not during viewings, not during important steps, not even on the notary day. On a day where companies usually at least show up, say hello, and congratulate you on your new home, we were waiting… and no one came. Not even a simple check-in. This felt extremely unprofessional. The nice story they tell at the beginning is clearly just sales talk to attract you. Reality is very different once you’ve signed and paid. My honest advice: if they promise you things, ask for everything in writing, in a formal email. Otherwise, don’t expect those promises to be kept. Based on our experience, Welocate did not deliver what they sold us.

My experience with Welocate was great. I am very happy with the services offered and the way they were delivered. Furthermore, the communication was always very smooth and they were responsive to all my questions and concerns (via WhatsApp, email and/or call). I can really recommend if you value simplicity in an already quite complicated space as Housing in the Netherlands is. They offer 3 tiers and we got the more complete one but I think we would have done just right with the option in the middle as we were very active ourselves searching on Funda for available properties (therefore, this added service was less useful). In any case, I am happy that I opted for Welocate during this process.

An added benefit was that they work with a partner who assists with setting up utilities after completion, which made the transition much smoother for us.
