WORST experience in moving. Non-existent customer service. We paid for an international moving plus a storage service for a month. Photos speak for themselves: we found rat presence, soaking wet boxes were undoing themselves, their content was soggy and smelly, many items were broken or chewed by rats. Together with a general mishandling. Our new home had been unsafe to live in for over a week. We filed a complaint 2 months ago and nobody has never got back to us. We tried to call several times, they didn't answer: they've just disappeared.

AVOID EXPAT MOVING COMPANY This company managed to deliver all my belongings with rat urine and feces inside after 2 months of paid storage with them. Not to mention the overall mishandling of furniture and items that had to be replaced. Had to hire a disinfection company to be able to enter my apartment again. When I tried to contact them for insurance claims for all the belongings I had to dispose of, they didn’t even reply to my calls and emails. Do not hire them.

Stay away from this moving company. I recently hired the Expat Moving Company services to help me move from Utrecht to Amsterdam and with the exception of booking the service, the rest of the experience was a real nightmare. Below I am listing the reasons why I would recommend to you to think twice before booking their services. 1. Unpunctual The moving staff showed up 2 hours late, 17:00, and it took me multiple calling attempts before getting an update on their arrival status. Upon arrival, they were slow to get the move going. 2. Disorganised Trusting that a moving company would have the expertise to handle the move of a studio apartment fast (see attached pictures for reference) the experience was the complete opposite. The loading of the furniture onto the moving truck was all over the place despite having plenty of room to arrange it properly. This also was noted when unloading the furniture/boxes and leaving the all over the place despite them being labeled. 3. Slow The whole move was anticipated to last 3 hours, however, it took them almost three hours to move the furniture out of the apartment, this considering that a friend of mine and myself heavily helped with bringing the furniture out on to the street and having an elevator. What was originally meant to be a 3 hour move turned out to be almost 6 hours. 4. Hidden costs I was originally told that for the amount of furniture/boxes, previously specified item by item over the phone, the move would take a maximum of 3 hours; I questioned this but agreed to it as I also figured it was not much to move. As previously mentioned, the move took almost double the time and had to argue on with the moving staff that I was not paying an additional full three hours because, as they recognised, I helped a lot with the move; additionally, a gas stop out of the way to the move destination was made. The additional charge was of an extra EUR 238 after arguing the price down. 5. Cash only When charging the additional fee, it was difficult to convince them to settle the amount via Tikkie as the company prefers to deal in cash. Overall, this turned out to be more expensive than renting a van and handling the move with a few of my friends. In a nutshell, if what you want is an organised move with not too much stress, don't hire this company. (Note that the pictures show the furniture/boxes after I organised them; I am also including a video showing the furniture/boxes before the move started; hope it is visible)

Several items / pieces of my furniture got damaged during the move. For example my dining table was unusable because a piece on one of the legs had broken and it wasn't stable anymore, and the top of it was heavily scratched. I noticed some of the damage at delivery, and the deliverer encouraged me to take pictures and make a claim by email. I did so a few days later. No one ever replied to me. I sent several emails after that, asking for news about the claim, or at least some feedback on the process, or (my last hope) just a word to say sorry. Nothing. My partner who is based in the Netherlands called them several times in Dutch, hoping to have a better result. The staff kept saying they would give an answer on the same day but never followed through. It's been 6 months. Disrespectful and unreliable. Inexistant customer service. Unacceptable for the prices charged.

I regret to say that my experience with them was disappointing, resulting in a one-star rating. Despite my numerous attempts to contact them, I faced repeated difficulties with the sales agent who failed to respond to emails or return phone calls. Following the acceptance of the initial relocation quote from Amsterdam to London, the driver conducted an inventory for customs purposes. However, despite several attempts to communicate, I received no response, causing me to miss the deadline for submitting the TOR documentation to the UK customs office. Consequently, I made the decision to terminate my engagement with Expat Moving and instead chose an international moving company based on positive Trustpilot reviews. I ultimately opted for Movega, who have proven to be professional, polite, and extremely supportive. In addition, they offer more affordable rates.

Professional, friendly and dependable, Roy and his team went above and beyond to help our move. They bristled with energy and worked like powerhouses to shift our things. We were in our new house and settled much earlier than we thought. Very reasonably priced too. We’ll be employing them to help with the garage clearance next!

Paid for disassembly and reassembly of furniture but they didnt send enough staff to reassemble. They also didn't send enough staff to unload properly, so my father-in-law and I had to do it with them Our items also arrived damaged and, although you pay for insurance, they want to 'pay themselves'. I have been trying for 4 months to get payment and nothing. They tell you they will email or call back and never do. You call and 'their systems are down' and don't call back. They say 'Alex, the manager, is unavailable and to call back in 30 mins. You call back and no one answers. I have been calling non-stop for 30 minutes and nothing! Joke of a company!
