Standard Studio

Super vriendelijk, creatief en down to earth. De ideeën voor ons appartement waren boven onze verwachtingen. Zeker een aanrader.

I collaborated with this company on a project, but unfortunately, the overall experience and delivered product fell well below expectations. The initial consultation was promising and left me feeling confident. However, following that, I was assigned to a team of junior, relatively inexperienced staff, which affected the quality of the outcome. A few key concerns: Misinterpretation of the Brief: The team made several assumptions that were not specified in my briefing—for example, including features like a hot tub and a poured floor. These additions were never requested, yet I was asked to pay extra to have them corrected, despite the oversight being on their end. Lack of Material Knowledge: When I inquired about the practicality and maintenance of recommended materials (e.g., whether certain tiles or sinks were easy to clean), I received no clear guidance. I expected a higher level of expertise and product knowledge, especially when making material recommendations. Inaccurate Measurements: During the construction phase, we discovered that the measurements in their drawings were significantly off. For instance, one room was larger by 20 cm in their plans than in reality, and the toilet tank specified was smaller than the standard size. These inaccuracies caused avoidable delays and frustration. Additionally, while the design concepts looked appealing on paper, they proved impractical in reality. In the end, I had to redesign most of the space myself and recheck all the measurements. The only element I ended up using from their work was a material recommendation for my wardrobe. They also promised assistance in finding a contractor, but that too was a disappointing experience. The contractor they sent displayed a complete lack of professionalism—parking improperly even though there was plenty of space available, discarding a cigarette at the entrance, and blowing smoke into the house. Perhaps most concerning of all was the response I received when I raised these issues with the manager. Rather than taking accountability or addressing my concerns constructively, he became extremely aggressive and upset—particularly when I questioned why I was being charged for their mistakes or for the meeting with their contractor. The defensiveness and lack of professionalism in handling feedback was very disappointing. Overall, this was not the professional, knowledgeable, or client-focused experience I was hoping for.

The guys at Standard Studio are great-- incredibly creative and collaborative. Our renovation changed in size and scope in the middle of the project and they immediately switched gears and created something that fit our new situation beautifully. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience. Very capable and involved staff. Communication is very good and not a single deadline has been postponed.

Snooty and full of themselves. Don't even bother trying to enquire.

Nice studio with a creative approach on architecture.
